Surfing is a way of life in Tahiti. Surfers around the world travel to Tahiti in search of the perfect wave and experience the island Hinano lifestyle. Tahiti hosts the some the best surf breaks in the world. Here are the top ten in Tahiti. Enjoy.

Teahupoo
Arguably the world's heaviest wave, the infamous Teahupoo is a razor -sharp left reef break located on the south-east island of Tahiti. What creates this massive wave is a non present third reef (to defuse big swells) causing a top heavy, below sea-level monster wave, always breaking on the same place.

Vairao
This beach village is located on the south-west coast of Tahiti. It is a fast, hollow left reef break which is loved because of the no-crowd factor, but deemed by its long paddle.

Papara
Not all beaches in Tahiti are Death Bombs and reef rash infested. This popular beach located on the west coast part of the island was the stomping grounds of local and world known legends Raimana Van Bastoler, Poto, and Manoa Drollet. It also has an outer reef break where you can see these legends tow-in to these on rare days. This beach break is pretty good year round but the crowd factor is pretty high.

Ta'apuna
This perfect throwing left reef break is a good half a mile paddle out to sea and is only a 10 minute car ride from Papeete. Although it doesn't handle any swell over 8ft before closing out, this reef break is a promising adrenaline rush.

Papenoo
This black-sanded beach break is located on Tahiti's north shore. Both mushy and powerless, this beginner s wave is fun for lefts and rights.

Temae
This Public beach is located on the west coast side of the island of Moorea, which is a short walking distance from the airport. It breaks very shallow and hollow on any south swell, good for carving long right handers. Many argue that this is one of the best waves in Polynesia.

Haapiti
This break is also located on the west coast side of Moorea, It is a fast, hollow left That breaks over reef. This amazing break holds up to 10 ft and the only two negative sides is the battling current going out the narrow pass and the extremely long paddle.

Fitii
This powerful, fast and hollow break is located on the island of Huahine. Although the ride is short and it has a very long paddle, the shape and intensity alone Will help you forget its lack of length.

Miri Miri
This left-handed surf spot is the most standard of waves in Raiatea. It breaks on a West swell and offers fun for the whole family.

Tuheiava
This Medium level wave is located on the atoll of Tikehau. It breaks on a north swell and has both ride able left and rights.
